Dude, it all depends one whether you want a swarm based deck or control. Either way here are some really good decks.

Blackwing (swarm)

Gravekeeper's (control)

Plant Synchro (swarm)

Machina Gadget (little bit of both swarm and control)

X- Saber (swarm)

Lightsworn (swarm)

Blackwing is good and easy to play with, so is Machina gadget. Although Machina Gadget is way cheaper to build. If you want a really good deck, Plant Synchro is just crazy. No joke, in one turn you can synchro summon ten time, i've seen it. Gravekeeper's is really good grave yard based control and some what cheap. X- Saber is fun and its what i personally run. It plays almost like a tool box but has really good swarm. As for lightsworn, it use to be really good but now its okay. It still wins though but not like it use to.

Here's a link to see the top decks out. The standings pretty much reflect the ability of each deck.

I have three decks that I hate, but I am really good with them. On the flip side I have friends who have decks that they love and they suck with them. Also I don't have very strong cards in one of my decks and I use it to beat decks with really strong cards. So truly it is a matter of what you are good with, not which deck is stronger or weaker. To find the deck you are good with and really like the best place to start is a MMO called Yu-Gi-Oh Virtual Desktop. That game system allows you to make decks for free and duel with people across the world. The best part is that there is no cost at all for it and virus free. (I scanned 4 times before download and 20 times after and got nothing bad to show up.)

Here is a link to the main page so you can check it out:

You have to keep up to date on the downloads or you won't be able to play. (I learned that the hard way.) Also it is very basic with the programming so don't expect a 3D adventure, you only see the cards and duel space. Be patient with it if you have trouble downloading or playing MMO's as it might be slow the first and/or second time. Have fun finding your personal deck.

The rules have changed quite a bit since then, you'll have to do some research on that first and see what's new, then you could check out what decks there are (there are loads) you could try sites like pojo.com for more information.
