Hello. I would like to say that it seems as though you haven't put much thought into this list. The current Advanced Format focuses on three primary objectives:

OTK Decks

Spikes in card plays/purchases

Top Tier Metagame Decks

The first thing that UDE officials keep on top of when creating the Ban List is OTK (One Turn Kill) Decks. The reason behind this is because if OTK Decks went unchecked, people would lose interest in the game. A prime example of this would be Cyber-Stein OTK. I remember attending a Regional in which over half of the original attendees dropped out, because the other half were running Cyber Stein. It got to the point where people were dropping out of the game because of him. OTK Decks must be kept in check at all times, because they make the game much less fun and strategic. I personally find OTK Decks to be too simple-minded, which I believe reflects on the Duelist playing that Deck.

The second thing UDE focuses on is the Top Tier decks in the metagame. The reason DAD and Judgment Dragon were semi-restricted is because the idea of people pulling them three times in one Duel was too much. I feel they should have done something more, especially with Yu Gi Oh 5Ds just around the corner. I find it absolutely ludicrous that you almost have to spend $500-$1000+ in order to build a tournament Deck.

Finally, the last thing UDE looks at before the creation of the Ban List are cards that see huge spikes in play/purchase. Two prime examples of this are Destiny Hero-Disk Commander, and Destiny Hero-Malicious. Disk Commander was banned because he was seeing a ridiculous spike in his play time, even without Destiny Draw and the other Heroes. Malicious had been semi-limited before Force of The Breaker because the Monarchs had taken hold of the Metagame at that point, and UDE needed to quell their uprising in order to make way for Six Samurai and Crystal Beasts.

The idea behind the Ban List is simple: out with the old, in with the new. If they had not created the Ban List, Chaos would still be running amok, and the GX era and soon-to-be 5Ds era would be non-exsistent, and the game wouldn't be as innovative and fun as it is today.

Hope this answer helps. If you ever need any Deck advice, don't hesitate to email me. I'd be happy to help.

Happy Dueling!!!

PS- Don't diss the D-Heroes!!! THEY ROCK!!!!:)

ok, before anybody say's anything I should let you know, I hate the banned list. and this shows in some of my other answers on here. However I do think that the Banned list is need to prevent cards that create 1 turn kill decks or decks were people can win on there frist turn, or a card that when it played makes the person who played it the winner.

cards like Monster Reborn, Dark Hole, Raigeki, Change of Heart, and Snatch Steal, Pot of Greed, Graceful Charitiy don't bother me there just annyoning. and always thought it was dumb for them being on the banned list even with some of there kickbutt combos. and it seem like exodia tends to be the reason all the draw cards get banned. i dislike exoida, I try to only put the most threating cards on the banned list or stop 1 hit kill combos.

This is my perfect banned list right here.

Why does that already look like a banlist? Anyway, from this, I would change the following:

Well, technically, the only reason they made Victory Dragon forbidden is because none of his counterparts are playable. He is not all that great. You can surrender before he kills you and they will only win the Duel, not the match.

Ultimate Offering to limited

Cyber Dragon limited

I think DH-DC does need to be banned. He is way to easy to recover

ROTA no longer Limited.

Magical Scientist forbidden. Sorry, but if you want to pull off the Magical Scientist/Catapult Turtle OTK, you'll instead have to use this alternative:

Fusion Gate

Chain Material

Catapult Turtle

15 Dragon monsters in your deck

3 Five-Headed Dragon

Gilasaurus

Here is how: Special Summon Gilasaurus, tribute it for Catapult Turtle, activate Fusion Gate and Chain Material, remove 15 dragons from your hand, deck, field, or grave to summon 3 Five-Headed Dragons, tribute them for 7500 damage and 500 from Catapult Turtle.

I think Monster Gate does require a type of limiting. Reasoning is out of control and Monster Gate isn't that different.

I don't know what else I would change. Also, I think I pretty much copied the September 2008 banlist, but with a few changes.

I think Konami has done a great job with this one. Frog FTK, arguably the least fair deck in the meta, has been absolutely halted by the banning if Subsitoad. Although I think X-Saber Faultroll should have been limited, the banning of Rescue Cat and Brain Control should slow it down enough to allow other decks some presence. Having said that, the un-limiting of Treeborn Frog had made Frognarchs still very much playable, and Quickdraw could well rise as the dominant tier. For the first time in around 4 years, we have 2 Graveyard resurrection cards due to Monster Reborn being re-limited. There looks like a whole lot of nuking for the new format, with a Dark Hole after 6 years and Black Rose going back to 3. What has me most excited, however, is Cyber Dragon! It's finally back to 3, which means I have a genuine excuse to run a Cyber Dragon deck! With Cyber Dragon Zwei as well, I think there's scope to take them to tier 1 (or at the very least tier 2)

i [personally hate ban lists but i would probably put alot of the glad beasts under limited and semi limited to make it fair since they didnt get touched this time around. i would also keep DMOC and disk commander limited because without disk commander d hero decks are useless and without Dmoc certain dark decks are made less effective. this is my opinion though. props for a good question though it got me thinking

My favorite strategy was the three nimble momonga. Virtually 3,000 life points as well as two special summons.

I've given away my deck long ago though.
