Yugioh Ruling: Earthbound Immortals and Legendary Fisherman?

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:The_Legendary_Fisherman

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Earthbound_Immortal_Aslla_piscu

Link 1 is to Legendary Fisherman and Link 2 is for Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu.

If you look at the rulings for Earthbound Immortals, they say that when they are alone on the field, your opponent cannot attack you direct, since they cannot attack the Earthbound Immortal...BUT...The Legendary Fisherman says that as long as Umi is face-up, he cannot be attacked by opposing monsters, seems like the same effect to me, yet the rulings state that While LF is out with Umi, your opponent can hit you direct, but with the EI's they cant? why is this?

Im starting to feel like Yugioh the Abridged Series is right...even the creators dont know how to play this game. its Too Vague on rulings and they seem to make it up as they go along. >_<

Well the rules should apply to all cards that have the same type of effect. That ruling effect has been in play for a very long time with the Legendary Fisherman. Therefore, the rules should also apply to all the Earthbound Immortals. If they can't be chosen as an attack target, then while they have no other monsters on the field, you should be able to attack directly. Now I don't know the exact ruling on this as I have never encountered this in an actual duel, but the rule has even applied itself to the Yugioh 5D's cartoon. Yusei was dueling against the boss of the Dark Signers and he summoned an Earthbound Immortal. Yusei then summoned a Synchro monster and attacked him directly. Now I know that the cartoons were never a very good source for card rulings as they always just made stuff up, but they got it right with that one.

Actually on yugion wikia, it says that monsters like sumarineroid can hit you directly even if you control an earthbound immortal (under the earthbound immoral ruling).

i've got no longer extremely seen many Earthbound Immortal decks, yet this looks extremely familiar in terms of huge beater decks. might i want to advise working Wiraquocha Rasca alongside with Asla Piscu, with the aid of devastating mixture you're able to do with Swallow's Nest? that is too many EI's in one deck yet i've got by no ability been beneficial. overall, this sounds like a deck which could get issues carried out. i might extremely want to work out it in action a while, so i might make it myself. Earthbounds are an archetype that have not gotten lots interest. i might provide this deck a 7.5/10 for originality. EDIT: it is not approximately what Wiraquocha does whilst it extremely is summoned, it extremely is what Aslla Piscu does whilst it extremely is removed from the sphere. additionally, no i did no longer get what the belief of the deck became into devoid of you telling me what the belief became into. yet that summoning with Zombie grasp subject is certainly something I by no ability might've concept-approximately.
