1) Card effects
Do card effects for face down defense monsters become active when the monster is attacked by the opposing player if they dont say "flip" on the card?
Specific example: Spirit Reaper
effect: This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Destroy this card when it is targeted by the effect of a spell, trap or effect monster. if this card successfully attacks directly your opponent randomly discards one card.
If my spirit reaper is in face down defense position and is attacked is it sent to the discard pile? same question goes for Royal Keeper and pyramid turtle.
2) remove from play
Card specific: Book of Life and Imperial Iron Wall
IIW - trap card - cards cannot be removed from play
BOL - spell card - special summon 1 zombie type monster from your graveyard and remove from play one monster from your opponents graveyard
Can i play the Book of Life to summon a monster from my graveyard even though i am unable to remove my opponents monster from play because i have Imperial Iron Wall in play? Same question can apply to cards such as Bottomless Trap Hole.
3) Another Card Effects Question
Specific: Zombie Master
Effect: Once per turn you can send 1 monster card from your hand to the graveyard to special summon 1 level 4 or lower zombie type monster from either players graveyard.
Can I summon the monster card i have sent from my hand to the graveyard to use this card effect if the monster is a zombie monster? or do i have to send one and resurrect a zombie monster that is already in my discard pile?
eg. send pyramid turtle to an empty discard pile and ressurect pyramid turtle using this effect
Here is my deck if you have any suggestions for improvements. However, remember that im a new player so i dont have that many cards (of course id love a mirror force card etc) but i am working on making a good deck so i can enter a local tournament without being embarrassed. The tournament has lax rules due to the young kids that play but i would like to make my deck fully legal at some point. If you are kind enough to make any suggestions for improvements could you please tell me why i should add a card and why i should remove a card (instead of just listing) as it will not help me to have useful cards if i dont know how or when to use them best.
