Not to be rude, buy you have no idea what you're going on about. The rarity has nothing to do with anything, the rated black part you meantion. Black means the card is common and that means nothing in most cases. Secondly is that one creature cannot block more than one creature unless the creature itself has that ability or you place something onto that creature to give that ability. There are not two battle phases unless there's something making it that way. There is one battle phase per turn. And the rest of your question makes no sense at all. You mean you wouldn't have attacked him if he cast it on his own creature? That has nothing to do with anything, you do what you want. How you play has nothing to do with him. When he applied that aura onto your creature he made it so your creature couldn't deal damage to him while making it so your creature also couldn't die from combat damage. This being said, your creature could be removed by something as small as a Doom Blade, don't know the color of the creature so I'm pulling something out of my head. If I were you, I would sit down and read the rules of the game because you are sadly mistaken on several key points of the turn and the game itself.

If you don't mind waiting, Platinum Emperion in Scars of Mirrodin, coming out in Oct., would help. He is an 8/8 with "Your life total can't change". However, he is a mythic rare, but he is colorless.

There are many cards like that, Holy day being one of the more popular. Imperial Archangel is a 5/8 flying angel for 8 mana with shroud that if you would be dealt damage, deal it to IA instead.

There's a lovely search tool available at:

http://sales.starcitygames.com//spoiler/spoiler.php

which lets you search for specific "Text Contains" - you can search for any particular phrase you like and find all cards that fit., so if you find that you like what Empyrial Archangel does, you can search for "All damage that would be dealt to you", and find 105 different cards that will redirect damage from you to something, or prevent the damage entirely, etc.

Since you don't care if they're legal or not, I'd suggest going for the more overpowered, dual-function and re-usable ones - like Tangle disables you're opponent's army for a couple of turns (assuming no hasted new creatures), or Spike Weaver can be used 3 times.

It's also good to have multiple ways to achieve the same result - instant cards, creature abilities, no-mana options, etc.

Good luck!
