Torpor Orb
Artifact
Creatures entering the battlefield don't cause abilities to trigger.

VS.

Fiend of Shadows
Creature
Whenever Fiend of the Shadows deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles a card from his or her hand. You may play that card for as long as it remains exiled.

Sacrifice a Human: Regenerate Fiend of the Shadows.

Say a creature entered the battlefield under my control, and I attack directly with Fiend of the Shadows. Will the ablility of Fiend of the Shadows still apply or does Torpor stop the Fiend's ability?

Torpor Orb's ability doesn't mean that a creature entering the battlefield will disable all triggered abilities for the rest of the turn. What it means is that when a creature enters the battlefield, abilities that would trigger off of that particular event won't trigger. Because a creature entering the battlefield isn't a triggering event for Fiend of the Shadows' ability, Torpor Orb doesn't do anything to interfere with it.

No, it does not. Torpor Orb's ability is pretty clear. It stops Triggered abilities that trigger as a result of a creature entering the Battlefield zone. So abilities that start with "Whenever XXXXX enters the battlefield" are the only thing it affects (like on Acidic Slime or Suture Priest).

No.

"Enter the battlefield" and "attacks" or even "deals combat damage" are three entirely different triggers, only the one is covered by Torpor Orb, not the others.

I can't imagine there's a link or any detail on this, as there's no need to explain anything further, it's a straight reading of the card.

Sure doesn't. Torpor Orb only stops some-into play abilities. If you want to curtail things like that, kill the creature, put an aura on it or do something like that.
