About how many high-level monsters should there be in a Yu-Gi-Oh deck?

Yeah, I know its a bit weird for me to be playing yu-gi-oh for fun at the age of 13, but I have a question that has been on my mind for a while: How many high-level monsters (above level 4) should there be in a yu-gi-oh deck? I feel that I do not have enough high level monsters in my deck.
(I only have 5 high level monsters in my deck; no kidding.)
I would love to hear your opinions on how many high level monsters there should be. Thnx!

it all depends on the particular support. if you run monarch (7 or more strong monsters) you would include things like Brain Control and Soul Exchange to make sure you can get them out. in a regular deck i suppose the general rule of thumb would be about 2-3. if you are running Cyber Dragons you would probably (even though they dont really count as tributes) run 2 without support. lets re-cap:

Monarch: 2-3 Cyber Dragons and 7-8 Monarchs/Jinzo (soul exchanges and brain controls)

Regular Deck: 3 Cyber Dragons and 2 Strong Monsters

Deck with support: 3 Cyber Dragons, 1 Brain Control and 1 extra Brain Control per Strong monster

five is, honestly, far too many strong monsters.

Usually about 2-3. The reason is if you don't have enough low level monsters and too many high level monsters you will have a very hard time getting them on the field plus some high level monsters are pretty expensive, so if I were you I would try to narrow it down to 2 or 3. I have 5 tribute monsters in my deck so I'm trying to figure out which ones to take out.

I hope this helped! :^)

Don't worry. I'm 13 AND a girl (most people find that akward)It depends on how you play. If you play high-level mosters to keep you're opponent at bay, make sure you have enough lower-levels to summon your-higher levels. Also, having monsters that level themselves up like Armed Dragon, Horus the Black Flame Dragon, and other Lvl. Monsters is a good way to keep a balance. Good Luck!

high level monsters varies ....

it used to be 1 to three (jinzo, airknight, a spellcancellor or a horus or on rare occasions, even a phoenix)

But today's yugioh deck has more choices to special summon a tribute monster quitte easily

Thank you treeborn frog,

thatnk you giant germs and other floaters

thank you d-heros

thank you advanced ritual art

and now it is not unheard to have up to eight tribute monsters...( jinzo, and multiple copies of Mobius, Zaborg, Thestalos, and Razer the wind monarch, as well as an airknight, or Two or Three!!

generally it isnt the amount of tribute monsters, its if your hand is keeps getting unbalanced hands or not

for example having only monarchs on the first turn, only to be hit with confiscation and all u have is one brain control..

or drawing three giant germs and a premature and a call of the haunted,

anyway the point is the more tributes u have, (say five in your case) you would need x number of cards to guarantee you can bring him out from your hand...in your case at least ten ... (call o haunted, premature, treeborn, brain controls, soul exchange, cyber dragon or other special summon creature, ancient rules, instant fusion, etc)

any of these cards will help to balance your deck!!!

I'm thirteen in one month and I play Yu-gi-oh! for more than just fun. I think five high-level monsters is a descent number. You can probably go up to eight without hurting yourself. Although I don't get why the Yu-gi-oh! player population is rapidly decreasing every year! I think it met its peak 3 or 4 years ago.

I would at least have between 3 to 5 high level monsters in a pro deck. They are hard to find, but you should find one in every metal $20 box & $10 cardboard box.

i'm 15.....hehe

i played yugioh cause it's fun & require a lot of thinking.

i always love to think and make a good strategy...

5 high-lv monster??? u really kiddding!

most player only placed up to 3 high-lv mons. in their deck..

unless u run monarch deck or mausoleum of the dead emperor, u will stuck your hand with high-lv mons. cause u don't have enough monster to tribute them all

in yugioh, atk isn't the most important, EFFECT is the most important thing in the game.

if u just want to enjoy playing yugioh with playing a high-level monster, then, it's ok....but if u want to win, play less tribute...

that's all...

i'm thirteen too don't worry about it, i think 1/3 or 2/3 (your choice) of your monsters should behigh level so that you can finish off your opponents and the weak ones to sacrifice or power them up or fusion them.
